Stories of commitment

Publication: La Croix L’Hebdo·Published: 15 March 2024·Page: 5·Journalist: Bruno Bouvet·Section: The Editorial

Stories of commitment

In this editorial, Bruno Bouvet discusses Pierre Guillet’s journey, his decision to gain experience before acquiring businesses, and his determination to put his employees’ skills and human qualities at the heart of his company. He offers perspective on Guillet’s professional commitment and his role at the helm of Entrepreneurs et dirigeants chrétiens.

Pierre Guillet’s journey — excerpt from the editorial

The son of an entrepreneur, Pierre Guillet might quite naturally have taken over from his father when he died prematurely. The desire to run his own business was already there, but the young man chose instead to gain experience in various roles within larger companies. He spent around fifteen years refining his plans before putting himself forward to acquire one company, then a second, now merged into a single entity.

By then, Pierre Guillet was undoubtedly ready to face the uncertainties of business life, draw on his employees’ skills and human qualities, and address the inevitable relationship challenges that arise in any workplace. His « Conversation » with Marie Dancer and Nicolas Senèze is a compelling tribute to commitment, all the more so because Pierre Guillet has added another responsibility to his schedule: since 2022, he has also headed Entrepreneurs et dirigeants chrétiens, which is holding its national conference this weekend in Bordeaux.

Another lesson from the account of this man, who seeks to bring his professional life and spiritual beliefs into harmony, is that there comes a moment when commitment feels self-evident. That does not rule out support from others or their wise advice on maintaining a healthy balance in one’s involvement.

These excerpts and the roles mentioned reflect the situation at the time of publication, in March 2024. The full editorial also discusses the commitment of Russian exiles opposed to Vladimir Putin’s regime.
